[edit] To do
- Finish Joomla! e-book.
- Learn about installing plugins.
- Work on DB schema.
[edit] Report
I have completed the first 9 chapters of the book but I have had to go slower because the last two chapters cover my goals for this week and the next. I followed the demo in the ebook and recreated the site they demoed.
I am learning how to install modules/plugins. I see how they are incorporated into the site but now my next step is writing specific ones and incorporating them into Joomla which is the last chapter of the eBook.
I have also been researching some of the plugins availaible for Joomla that I will be testing this week.
The last chapter of the book deals with MySQL incorporation and that will take up most of my focus for next week.
To see my fumbles/progress for the week, the site that I recreated can be found here.
We met and discussed the CoolStateLA DB Schema Version 1.9 and worked on collapsing tables which stored repeating data. We restructured the database according to these specifications and are working to integrating Mark's Feed Filter into the new schema. We have a proposed new schema with new fields to represent a basic work flow of CoolStateLA.
