Symposium on Complex Systems Engineering/Schedule/Opening session comments
From CSWiki
Philip S. Antón, RAND
Rich Byrne, Mitre (Head of DOD Programs). Success of Traditional SE is in a way a negative, since now we need to move to complex SE.
General Don Walker, Aerospace (Systems Planning and Engineering). Today's tools are inadequate (deterministic); need to make more usable tools and processes.
Russ Abbott, Conference Organizer...Complex systems are no longer a mystery; it's time to put complex systems to work. Session format is Author overviews (what are the ideas to get across) and discussion.
Alfred Hubler, editor of Complexity journal, wants to do a special issue; papers due March 4 for publication by end of year.
Closing session asks for each person to fill out at least one 3x5 card with an idea you learned here. These will be discussed in the closing session. Due by about 2 on Friday.
